The Lipoclinic, founded in 2015, offers patients integrated lipoedema treatment at two sites in Germany – Mülheim an der Ruhr and Hamburg. Their English-speaking clinical teams have many years of clinical practice and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of lipoedema. As a pioneer in the surgical treatment of lipedema, LipoClinic Dr. Heck is a worldwide leader, successfully performing more than 2,500 operations every year.

Talk Lipoedema and LipoClinic
Talk Lipoedema has partnered with LipoClinic to provide a reliable source of information and a trusted pathway for care. Germany's medical community has been a pioneering space for the treatment of Lipoedema long before the condition held the recognition in the UK that it has today. The wealth of knowledge and experience held by organisations such as LipoClinic is invaluable to our community, so we are grateful to be able to feature them as one of our sponsors.

In the early 2000s Dr. Falk-Christian Heck first encountered lipedema, a disease that was unrecognised before then. The cluster of symptoms of the women who were affected was met with neither acceptance nor understanding from doctors at the time. Lipedema often remained unrecognised for a long time and it is still misdiagnosed in many cases as excess weight or obesity. As an experienced surgeon, Dr. Heck developed a completely new surgical method that is effective in the long term: lipedema surgery (lipo-decompression). To achieve the best possible lasting results, the LipoClinic uses an integrated approach with individual consultation, treatment and follow-up care.

LipoClinic's Lipoedema Test
LipoClinic's lipoedema test should serve as your first point of reference. Because yes, your pain is real, your discomfort is justified, and your emotional burdens are just as significant as the physical ones.
Dealing with lipoedema is not only a medical challenge, but often an emotional one as well.
The lipoedema test is intended to be a way to better understand your symptoms. Please note that the self-test is not a substitute for professional medical advice, but can serve as an initial guide.
