Donate Your Compression Garments

Help us test a compression garment reuse service — and make compression more affordable for people with lipoedema.

We're working with ACS Clothing and Heriot-Watt University to test whether pre-owned compression garments can be professionally cleaned, safety-checked, and rehomed. This is a pilot service, and your donations are what make it possible. If you have compression garments sitting unused at home, please consider donating them.

What we can accept

✅ Ready-made compression garments — tights, leggings, stockings, or arm sleeves in standard sizes (S, M, L,          XL, or Roman numerals like I, II, III, IV)

✅ Made-to-order compression garments — these also come in standard sizes and are welcome too

✅ Stained items — garments are professionally cleaned and ozone-sanitised by ACS Clothing, so surface                  staining is not a problem

✅ Any original tags, packaging or inserts you still have

Not sure which type you have? If you can see a standard size on the label (like S, M, L or I, II, III), it's almost certainly fine to donate. If you're unsure, get in touch: compressionsupport@acsclothing.co.uk

Please don't donate

❌ Garments with holes, ladders, broken elastic, or structural damage — items that can't be resold create disposal costs that put the pilot at risk

❌ Made-to-measure garments — these are made to your specific body measurements and don't carry a standard size label, so they can't reliably be matched to a new wearer. We hope to find a solution for these in future

🏷️ Labels must be attached

Brand and size labels are essential — we cannot list or safely match items without them. Please check before you pack.

What happens to your donation

Your garment goes through a three-step process:

  1. Triage — each item is inspected against our quality checklist

  2. Clean & sanitise — accepted garments are professionally laundered and ozone-sanitised by ACS Clothing

  3. Rehomed — listed in the Compression Reuse Shop at a reduced price for someone who needs it

* This is a pilot service run by Heriot-Watt University in partnership with ACS Clothing and Talk Lipoedema, funded by Design HOPES. Every good-quality donation directly helps us show that this service can work for our community.
