Talk Lipoedema’s first local support group in the Yorkshire has been set up in West Yorkshire, by three women from Leeds and Bradford who met at TL’s conference in Birmingham earlier this year.
Judy, Lily and Louise, pictured alongside the county’s iconic emblem, the white rose, will host their first monthly meeting on January 9th.
The meetings, on the second Tuesday evening of the month, will initially be in Leeds. Later it’s hoped they can be held in other locations in West Yorkshire, so more women with lipoedema are reached.
As well as providing support and a place to chat through problems related to living with lipoedema, speakers will be invited to talk about a range of subjects, including compression, skin and foot care, and knee problems, The speaker at the first meeting in January will be a manual lymphatic drainage therapist.
The local lymphoedema service nurses have been supportive of the initiative and are distributing Talk Lipoedema West Yorkshire leaflets to clients with lipoedema.
If you live in West Yorkshire, have been diagnosed with Lipoedema, and would like to join the group please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your free space
